The main door

Watch out! When the front door is closed, it is locked.

Therefore, make sure you have the door key with you or push down the pin in the door (see the red circle in the picture) so that the door does not lock when it is closed. You should of course push the pin back up when you all leave the cottage, but remember the key. Yes, we once managed to lock ourselves out...

The terrace door

To lock the patio door, pull up on the door handle. The lock is then turned under the handle. To keep the patio door open and avoid fingers getting trapped if it's windy, the long hook at the top of the door can be inserted into the eye outside.

Internet and Wi-Fi access

You can find the summer house's Wi-Fi SSID and the SSID password in the paper version of the summer house handbook on one of the front pages. Instead of manually entering the code, you can use some smart phones with the camera app open to point the camera at the QR code and your smart phone should then automatically be connected to the cottage's Wi-Fi network. The Internet bandwidth is around 65/65 Megabit/second.

There is automation in the summer house (e.g. for the heat pump) that requires internet access. Therefore, do not switch off the internet router and Wi-Fi.

Heating

The cottage has a heat pump, wood-burning stove, electric radiators in the bedrooms and electric underfloor heating in the bathrooms and in the entrance.

Wood stove

See the separate page about the stove.

Heat pump

The heat pump can (on average) extract 5 kWh of heat from the outside air for every 1 kWh of electricity used, so clearly much more efficient than using the electric radiators and the electric underfloor heating. And if you use the heat pump for heating instead of the stove, you avoid the extra work involved in keeping a stove running.

If the heat pump does not respond, try to reset it by turning it off at the electrical panel (the electrical panel is located behind one of the cupboard doors in the entrance hall), and after a few seconds turn it on again. It is the second group from the left (Varme 13A).

TV

The TV is a Smart TV (Android TV) with built-in tuners for TV signals from both a regular antenna and a satellite dish, apps for streaming movies from Netflix over the internet and support for Google Chromecast. There is access to all DR channels (Danmarks Radio), but not to TV2 channels. There is also access to all the free channels broadcast from the Astra 19.2°E satellite (ZDF, ARD, BBC News, CNN and much more).
With Chromecast you can stream from your smartphone/tablet to the television. With the Google Chrome browser you can also "cast" from your laptop to the television.

Change language

Guests who have been here before you may have changed the language on the television. To change it, click on the cog . Select "Settings > Region and language > Language > Menu language". And yes, if you want to change the language, it is probably because it is not written in Danish but in another language. We hope this explains enough for you to change it to what you want.

Switch between TV antenna and satellite dish

If you want to switch between watching television channels via the regular antenna (DR) or via satellite (especially German channels but also many other), you have to change which "source" the television uses each time. On the remote control, press SOURCES to open the Sources menu. Select either antenna or satellite in the source list and press OK.

Netflix

We also have an English Netflix subscription that you are welcome to use. It would be cool if you use the "Gæst" profile when you select films from Netflix, then our own profiles do not show films you have seen.

TV manuals

If necessary, you can click here to read online [manuals for the television](https://www.philips.dk/c-p/43PUS8555_12/8500-series-4k-uhd-led-android-tv-med-3-sidet- ambilight/support).

Music, Radio

Below the television is an IKEA/Sonos wi-fi speaker set. The speakers can stream music and radio from iPhone/Android mobile phones and from the Internet. With an iPhone, you can use Apple AirPlay to get sound from the speakers. With an Android phone, you must first download a free Sonos app. With the Sonos app (both on iPhone and Android) you can also set the speakers to play from various internet radio stations. The Sonos app is downloaded from Google Play or Apple's App Store. You can find links to download Sonos' app for various devices at the bottom of this page or search for "Sonos" in your phone's app store. For more details on how to listen to music, podcasts and the like from iPhone or iPad, click here: [Play music stored on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch](https://support.sonos.com/s/ article/2922) For more information on how to do it with Android, click here: Playing music stored on your Android device

Cleaning

You can find a vacuum cleaner behind the right door in the hall cupboard. The vacuum cleaner is bagless. If you need to wash the floors, there is a bucket and mop in the cupboard in the hall and floor soap under the sink in the kitchen.

Light

Should a bulb burn out, you can find spare bulbs in the blue plastic basket on the top shelf behind the right-hand door in the hall cupboard.

Hot water temperature

Behind the left cabinet door in the entrance hall are the electric water heater and the electrical panel. At the bottom of the water tank is a rotary knob. We usually put it in the middle. If you need more hot water or just want a higher temperature, turn the knob to the left. We would appreciate it if you put it back in the middle when you travel back home.

No hot water at all?

To protect the environment, the electric water heater is automatically switched off when there are no guests and is switched on again before the next guests arrive. If the automation fails, it can be overridden. At the top, between the water tank and the electric panel, there is an ordinary on/off button of the kind you use to turn lights on/off. If you press it, you can switch on the electric water heater regardless of whether the automation is set to switch on or off.

Please turn off the switch again when you travel home.
