Sandy beaches, heritage and the great outdoors with family and friends

We hope you’re ready to relax and start your holiday, make yourself at home! 'Sydhavshuset' is Danish for ‘South Sea House’ because our holiday home is near the southernmost point of the Danish South Sea Islands. The beach is only a short walk away and there are many amazing activities in the area for all the family to enjoy.

We are happy to share our holiday home with you and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. This place means a lot to us. Our grandmother helped designed this holiday home and our grandfather built it in 2006. We have made many beautiful memories here. Our great-great grandmother on our mothers’ side was born in Gedesby, and her side of the family made Gedesby and its surrounding villages their home for more than 300 years. Amongst her direct ancestors is the innkeeper of a Royal Privileged Inn who had to give up his bed to the Russian Tsar Peter the Great who in 1716 sailed to Gedesby on his way to Copenhagen and arrived after everyone had gone to bed. We hope you and your family will also make beautiful and meaningful memories in Gedesby.
